By making a booking at Shampooch Grooming Studios, customers accept the following terms and conditions of service:
-
Our price guide is set assuming your dog’s coat is in good condition. Dogs with heavy matting; double coats or heavily soiled coats may incur an additional charge.
-
Extensive de-matting is not something we promote or offer as it can be a lengthy, stressful and painful process. Dogs will have to be clipped extremely short where heavy matting is present in the coat as this is the safest most pain-free way of removing matting. You can avoid your dog becoming matted with regular visits. Dogs with certain coat types, Poodles, Bichon Frise, Cavachons, Cockapoo, Cavapoo's, Maltipoo and all other breeds with a long coat should be professionally groomed at least every 4 - 6 weeks. This type of coat if not maintained properly can become matted very easily. We will always try our best to groom your dog exactly how you would like, however, the condition of your dog's coat will determine what is possible. Sometimes we may have to go shorter than you would like because of matting or knots in their coat. Brushing out matting causes stress and pain - Under section 12.1 of the Animal Welfare Act 2013, we are obliged not to cause unnecessary suffering and act accordingly when it comes to the welfare of the dog.
-
Clients are aware that if their pet does not respond to the groomer/stylist and remains still during the grooming procedure, accidents can happen such as nicks from clippers, scissors or toenail trimmers.
-
If your dog should become distressed or aggressive during the course of their grooming, we reserve the right to end the groom early. This measure is in the interests of the safety of both our groomers and your dog.
-
For Health and Safety and Insurance reasons, we can not permit the owner to be present during the grooming process, (with the exception of nail trim only). It can be very distracting for the groomer and for the dog and so for safety reasons it is best for your dog to be left in our care.
-
If it is necessary for the safety of your pet and the groomer/stylist, muzzles, elastic collars, slings, straps etc. will be humanely used. You must inform us if your pet bites or has ever bitten any person or other animal.
-
If you are a “no show & no contact” 3 times, you will unfortunately not have the option to book with Shampooch again. We are a small business with a low volume policy so appointments are precious.
-
Owners accept full responsibility for ensuring their dog has up-to-date vaccinations. In addition, any health problems should be brought to the attention of our groomer upon arrival.
-
The client authorises the groomer/stylist to act as his/her agent in the event emergency veterinary services, boarding, care-taking, and/or transportation is necessary and agrees to pay all costs. Any/all damages or claims shall include but not be limited to advanced age, extreme nervousness, neurosis, illness, previous injury, skin or coat conditions or other medical conditions.
-
We do not claim to cure any illness or condition with our treatments. If you have ongoing concerns about your dog’s medical health you should consult your veterinarian.
-
On a very rare occasion, a dog may experience an allergic reaction to the products which we use at our grooming studios. In conclusion, Shampooch accept no responsibility or liability for this; and patch testing 24 hours in advance is recommended before any visit if you have cause for concern.
-
The dog is fit, healthy & vaccinated up to date. Grooming of sick or elderly dogs is done so at owners' risk. If your dog's health causes concern to us while in our care you agree to us seeking veterinary advice at your expense.
-
The client assumes all liabilities, financial and otherwise, for the behaviour and health of their pet. The groomer will be held harmless from damages, loss or claims arising from any known or unknown pre-existing condition of the pet.
-
I agree to my dog's photograph being taken and used on your social media site/website.
-
I agree to my contact details being stored to enable you to contact me by email, post, telephone or text for example in emergencies, booking reminders, special offers and collections. I understand that this can be withdrawn at any time.
